How I Can Help
My primary focus is helping patients navigate and understand what their providers are diagnosing as it relates to their health care conditions. Many patients do not understand what is being told to them and subsequently experience high levels of anxiety and fear of not having a clear explanation of their condition and the physicians findings. In addition to not understanding this critical information they also lose sight that THEY are in control and have the final decision making about how they may wish to address their presentations or concerns. My role is to be mindful, respectful and completely supportive with health information, resource information, helping them find the appropriate health care provider, interfacing with the medical offices, insurance carriers, diagnostic centers, often going with them to their appointments. Taking notes and keeping track of their records and vital information is also part of the role I play. Being a patient advocate is providing many forms of support and assistance, all with the purpose to ensuring the clients receives the best possible medical care that they feel is right for them and that they are comfortable with.

Why I Became a Professional Healthcare Advocate
I have been doing advocacy for the past 55 years, when I began a career as a nurse's aid back in the 1960's.
Being in nursing and health care has been for me a natural extension of the work I do.I believe advocacy is a very important support service that should be available to everyone.
